4K UHD Blu-ray Review: ABOMINABLE

About 350-something animated movies released in 2019. ABOMINABLE is one of them. This is a gem that sort of flew under the radar and that’s a shame because it’s a really good movie for kids and adults. There’s not a lot of mainstream movies that cater to both and ABOMINABLE achieves that. It’s about a battle of corporate versus nature. If you’ve seen GODZILLA (2014), then you know who wins when we mess with mother nature.

The most important aside from a good story is, how does the animation hold up? For a company that doesn’t specialize just on animated movies, it’s brilliant. If you told me Pixar made this, I would believe you. The animation these days is really slack-jawing and even if a story is anchored towards kids, it’s still a visual feast.

ABOMINABLE has an aspect ratio of 1.85:1, so it fills your screen with larger than life characters (and yetis). The opening scene is a little frightening but that can be skipped over and kids won’t even notice. Below are the specs for ABOMINABLE’s 4K UHD Blu-ray release, now available everywhere.
